Project Description: 

According to the documents available with Tehran City Technical & Civil Department, in 1971, the design and provision of south belt freeway in Tehran city started with the aim of establishing a complete inter-provincial freeway network. The freeway which is now known as Azadegan expressway and the original plan was for it to connect the Azadi sports stadium in the north west to Qasr-e Firouzeh garrison in Afsarieh (Basij) expressway and then continue to Abali Road. After the Islamic Revolution in Iran through follow ups by Tehran municipality and collaboration of the Management & Planning Organization and Ministry of Roads & Transportation this expressway and its periphery roads were constructed to maintain its territory. The expressway runs from north to south and is one of the main highways in Tehran. This Company is honored to have taken an effective step through construction of 3 kilometers of the main route of the freeway in 2 return bands in 20 meters width and the middle refuge with a width of 4 meters in between Tehran-Karaj special road to Fath expressway to alleviate the traffic load in this expressway which is the result of the exits and connecting roads of Tehran-Karaj freeway and that of Behesht-e Zahra.

Operation quantities of the project were:

  • 1,082,000 cubic meter earthwork
  • Construction of 20,000 meters of curb
  •  19,000 cubic meter baseline material and 19,000 cubic meter foundation material
  • 50,000 tons of asphalt
